01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Head up from the 1F garage where classic vintage cars and motorbikes are parked, and the 2F opens up into an airy, high-ceilinged space. Situated right near Jonangu Shrine in Nakajima Miyanomaecho, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, Kyūgorō combines the thrilling atmosphere of a showroom for motor enthusiasts with the easygoing, unhurried comfort of a café.

Mornings begin with breakfast sets like egg roll sandwiches, followed at lunchtime by a satisfying lineup of Western-style dishes and set meals. The omurice wraps rich chicken rice seasoned with a special sauce in soft, runny eggs, delivering an uncomplicated, comforting flavor. For heartier cravings, options include tender, bite-sized diced steak, moist teppan shrimp pilaf packed with savory crustacean aroma, and katsu curry.

For an afternoon break or a post-meal treat, smooth, creamy chocolate mousse cake pairs wonderfully with an aromatic cup of coffee. The drink selection extends to crisp iced caffè lattes, caffè mochas, and soft-serve silk ice. Tea lovers are also well served, with thoughtful selections served by the pot, including Fauchon's apple tea and bergamot-scented Earl Grey.

The spacious seating arrangement is equipped with power outlets and complimentary Wi-Fi, making the window seats a pleasant spot to settle in for reading or focused work. With free parking provided and PayPay accepted, it makes for a convenient and relaxing stop while touring Kyoto by car or exploring the local neighborhood.
